Kamyanets-Podilsky biomass power plant, Ukraine

Construction of Kamyanets-Podilskyi Biomass Power Plant (CHP) with total capacity of 45 MW is the biggest energy efficiency project in Kamyanets-Podilskyi.

The CHP of this kind is the first in Ukraine, third in Europe and fifth in the world. It is equipped with a turbine with ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) module, two solid-fueled boilers of 10 and 5 MW capacity, and 2 gas-fueled boilers of 12 MW capacity each.

The gas-fueled boilers are used for the peak loads, when the temperature is 10° C below zero.

Through the use of CHP, Kamyanets-Podilskyi administration expects to reduce natural gas consumption up to 65%.

The CHP construction was financed by the World Bank.

Ganska SES is the first industrial solar power plant in Zhytomyr region with the peak capacity of 19.1 MW.

Danish company Better Energy A/S together with NEFCO invested 17 mln euro in construction of Ganska SES.

The solar power plant is located on the territory of Velyki Nizgirtsi village council (outside the populated area), Berdychiv district, Zhytomyr region.

It is equipped with 24 complex transformer substations, 408 inverters and 58 752 photovoltaic modules.

Ganska SES will operate in complex with ecofarm.

By the way, the solar power plant is named after famous Evelina Ganska, wife of Honore de Balzac. The famous couple was married in St. Barbara's Church in Berdychiv.
